Most work is decided before the tender exists
By the time a package reaches an open tender, the field has usually already been narrowed. Head contractors invite from their own approved-supplier lists. Government and local councils buy through prequalification schemes and standing panels. Large private clients keep their own vendor registers.
If your business is not on the relevant list, the opportunity does not arrive late. It never arrives at all, and there is nothing on your desk to tell you it happened.
That is the quiet version of the problem most trade and consultancy businesses have. Work has gone soft, nobody can point to a lost bid, because there was no bid to lose.
What we do
We work out which schemes and lists actually matter for your trade, your region and the size of work you want, then get you onto them and keep you there.
- Identify the schemes, panels and supplier lists worth the effort, and say plainly which are not.
- Prepare the application: capability statements, project references, financial and insurance evidence, safety and quality documentation.
- Lodge it, then handle the questions and requests for further information that follow.
- Track expiry dates and renewals, because prequalification lapses quietly and you find out when the invitations stop.
- Keep the supporting material current as your project history and capacity change.
The paperwork is the barrier, not the capability
Almost every business we speak to is capable of the work. What stops them is a sixty-page application asking for an integrated management system, three referenced projects of comparable value, and evidence of a safety record, all wanted in a format nobody in the business has seen before.
It is a week of a director’s time that never quite becomes available, and it is the single highest-leverage week available to most firms. We do that week for you.
